Hamilton, Bermuda 26 March 2020 – In a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange Bermuda Press (Holdings) Limited (“BPHL”; Ticker: BPH.BH) announced the suspension of dividends and AGM postponement. The full filing reads:
The Board of Directors of the Bermuda Press(Holdings) Limited ("BPHL") (Ticker: BPH.BH) has suspended the payment of dividends and postponed the Annual General Meeting scheduled for March 27 2020.
Mr. Stephen W. Thomson, Chairman of the Board of Directors, noted that “We find ourselves inunprecedented times. The measures being taken to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus will have a significant impact on our community and business. Therefore, BPHL had suspended its quarterly dividend. It is the prudent decision given the current uncertainties facing Bermuda. The Board will review the company’s ability to resume the payment of dividends before the end of each quarter.”
He added that “The postponement of the AGM is a logical decision based on need for social distancing and the government’s notice to limit gathering to less than 10 people. We will issue a notice of meeting once we are able to set a new date.”
“The Board recognises the importance of reporting news and information to our community in times of crisis. We would be remit not to recognise the huge efforts being made by our staff to continue publishing and printing and thank our customers for their continuing support.”
